Tattoo Aftercare Guide

1. Immediately after your session:
Your tattoo will be covered with cling film or a protective dressing/”tattoo armour”, applied by your artist.

2. First clean (after 1–2 hours):
Remove the dressing with clean hands in a clean space. Gently wash the tattoo under warm running water using a fragrance-free liquid soap. Avoid hot water, as the skin will be sensitive, similar to sunburn.
Do not use bar soap, washcloths, or sponges.

3. Drying:
Pat the area dry using a clean towel or paper towel. Do not rub. Allow the tattoo to air dry for 40–60 minutes. Pat dry again if necessary, repeat a few times untill plasma stops weeping from fresh tattoo.

4. First night:
No cream is needed on the first night. Make sure you don’t sleep with your pets. Clean bed lining, clean sleepwear, clean towels. Keep high hygiene standart.
If you prefer, you may rewrap the tattoo before bed in cling wrap or tattoo armour. If you do, wash it again beforehand and remove the wrap the next morning, followed by a thorough clean with soap and water and thoroughly pad dry.

5. From day 2 onward:
Begin applying a small amount of aftercare cream 2 times daily after washing. Use only a thin layer—your skin should absorb it fully without leaving residue.

6. Hygiene:
Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo or applying any product. Do not share your tattoo creams or soaps with others, use always new tube of cream for every fresh tattoo. Preferably buy creams with pump.

7. Cleaning routine (first 2 days):
Wash your tattoo 3 times - morning, midday, and evening. Clean it sooner if it becomes dirty (e.g. sweat, outdoor exposure, contact with animals).

8. Clothing
Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing. Avoid tight, syntethic garments or anything that may rub or irritate the area.

9. General care
Treat your tattoo as an open wound. Keep it away from direct sunlight, dirt, chemicals (including perfumes), and contact with animals or unclean surfaces.

10. Healing stage (days 4–5 onward):
Flaking and light scabbing are normal. You may notice coloured skin shedding—this is part of healing, not ink loss.

11. Itching:
Itching is expected. Do not scratch, pick, or peel the area. Allow the skin to shed naturally.

12. Water and activity restrictions (first 2 weeks):
Avoid submerging the tattoo in water (no baths, swimming, or hot tubs). Limit heavy exercise, excessive sweating, and sun exposure until peeling has finished.

13. If fabric sticks to the tattoo:
Do not pull it away! Gently soak the area with water until the fabric releases easily.

14. Healing timeline:
Surface healing typically takes around 2 weeks. Full healing may take 4–6 weeks, depending on the area.

15. Ongoing care:
After 2 weeks, continue moisturizing and apply sunscreen regularly to maintain the quality of your tattoo.

16. Reactions:
Stop using any product that causes irritation, redness, discharge, swelingness or tempeature.

17. Final notes:
Following proper aftercare is essential for the best result. If anything feels unusual or you have questions, contact your artist directly immediately.
